Management, conservation,development and regulation of fisheries and aquatic resources by adopting new technologies in compliance with the national and international laws and treaties for the productive contribution to the Sri Lankan economy through sustainable utilization of fishery resources is the main focus. To achieve this objective;
Registration of fishing boats and issuance of operating licenses
Licensing of fishing operations
