Summary of related laws and regulations

National Biosafety Framework, 2005 and National Policy on Biosafety are guiding documents for biosafety regulations in Sri Lanka. The framework provides that provisions in the relevant legislations shall be applied by National Competent Authority (NCA) and Sectoral Competent Authorities (SCAs) to regulate Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs).
